Introduction of Hainan Medical University
Hainan Medical University is located in Haikou, the provincial capital of Hainan Province, a tropical coastal city known as the "Coconut City", formerly known as HaiQiang Medical Technology School founded in 1947 and the private Hainan University Medical College founded in 1948. The university now has three campuses: Chengxi (main campus), Guilinyang (new campus), and Longhua, covering an area of 1416.71 acres.
The university has established a comprehensive and multi-level talent cultivation system that covers full-time undergraduate and postgraduate (master's and doctoral) education, international student education, adult education, and continuing education. Currently, there are 15,340 full-time students, including 12,207 undergraduates (with 618international students) and 1,760 master's and doctoral students.
The university offers 36 undergraduate majors in 4 disciplines, including Medicine, Science,Engineering,and Management, and has 5 national first-class undergraduate majors, 2 national specialties, 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 national clinical teaching training demonstration center. The university has 3 of the largest tertiary A-level directly affiliated hospitals in the province, with a total of 7,020 open beds. The annual number of outpatient and emergency patients was 5.8809 million, and the number of discharged patients was 257,300, accounting for 12.64% and 21.13% of the total in the province, respectively. This has made significant contributions to Hainan Province's efforts to prevent major illnesses from leaving the island and clinical teaching. Additionally, it has 10 non-affiliated affiliated hospitals, 12 teaching hospitals, and 2 cooperative disease control centers, providing strong support for clinical teaching. It has 15 national clinical key specialties and 7 provincial key disciplines. Clinical medicine ranks in the top 5‰ of ESI disciplines, and pharmacology & toxicology and Biology&Biochemistry rank in the top 1% of ESI disciplines. Currently, there are 4 first-level doctoral degree programs in Clinical Medicine, Basic Medicine, Pharmacy, and Biology, 5 master's degree programs in basic medicine, clinical medicine, pharmacy, traditional Chinese medicine and biology, and 5 professional master's degree programs in clinical medicine, public health, nursing, pharmacy and stomatology.

1.Submit an application for admission

2.Application and Registration Deadlines
The application deadline for the Scholarship is May 20, 2026.
The application deadline for self-funded students is July 15, 2026.

Part III Scholarship Application
The scholarship programs offered by Hainan Medical University include the Hainan Government Scholarship for International Students and the ASEAN Scholarship. The funding covers tuition fees, accommodation fees, and medical insurance fees. Other expenses are to be borne by the students themselves.
1.Scholarship application condition

3.Special Note

In accordance with the relevant laws and regulations of China, international students are required to reside in university - provided student dormitories during their first year, unless there are special reasons. From the second year onwards, students may submit applications and relevant housing materials to request permission to rent accommodation off - campus near the university, in compliance with the relevant management regulations. All fees are to be settled in Chinese Yuan (RMB).
Part V. List of Application Requirements and Materials
1. Undergraduate Program
(1) Basic personal requirements: age: 18-35 years old (self-financed students can be appropriately relaxed); non-Chinese citizens holding valid foreign ordinary passports; abiding by Chinese laws, regulations and school rules and regulations; Being honest and trustworthy, and being in good health;
(2) Personal statement and study plan;
(3) Certification report of academic qualifications: in principle, a high school diploma or equivalent notarized by the local education department must be provided;
(4) Transcripts: transcripts of high school graduation (notarized documents must be submitted);
(5) Language Proficiency Score Report: the certificate of Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) or English - proficiency test. (HSK Level 4 or above is required for Chinese - medium programs, and HSK Level 3 or above for English - medium programs);
(6) Passport: personal information page of private ordinary passports (the validity period is more than 1 year).
(7) Application form: the Application Form for International Students of Hainan Medical University;
(8) Other materials: physical examination report; notarized certificate of no criminal record and so on.
(9)Academic Proficiency Test for Undergraduate Admission of International Students to China (CSCA) score report (Mathematics is a compulsory subject; either Chemistry may be chosen as an additional subject).
(10)Scanned copy of the HAINAN Medical University Financial Guarantee Form for International Students and supporting financial documents, demonstrating personal funds, family support, government sponsorship, or financial sponsor backing.
2. Notes
(1) Application materials submitted will not be returned, regardless of acceptance or non-acceptance.
(2) .personal information, documents and certificates provided should be true and accurate, otherwise will be disqualified from applying, admission or study;
(3) Materials in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a notarized Chinese or English translation.
(4) The Admissions Department may request applicants to provide the original copies of their application materials or documents certified by an authorized certification body for further verification.
(5) The applicant's contact number and e-mail address must be provided with the application materials;
(6) Applicants for undergraduate education are required to take an entrance examination as a reference for admission.

3. Qualification review and assessment
Qualification review and entrance assessment of the candidates will be conducted to determine the proposed admission list, and the admission notices will be issued.
4.Admission letter
After the university confirms the students' intention to study, the university will send the Letter of Admission and Application Form for Visa for Foreign Students Coming to China (JW202) to the applicants.
5. Special notes
