师生携手献爱心，彰显责任与担当。2024年4月20日上午，国际教育学院党委书记张万科、教工第二党支部书记王亚丹、团委书记虞凯惠带领海南医学院中外学生志愿者们积极参加海口市社会福利院开放日活动，以实际行动展现医学生的责任担当与人文关怀。
Teachers and students joined hands to offer love and demonstrate responsibility. On the morning of April 20, 2024, Zhang Wanke, Party Secretary of the School of International Education, Wang Yadan, Secretary of the Second Faculty Party Branch, and Yu Kaihui, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, led Chinese and foreign student volunteers of Hainan Medical University to take part in the open‑day activity of Haikou Social Welfare Institute. They showed medical students’ sense of responsibility and humanistic care through practical deeds.
此次活动恰逢海口市社会福利院十周年庆，我院加纳籍学生玫瑰和中国学生李绪斌共同表演了海南民谣《久久不见久久见》，赢得了在场老人和孩子们的阵阵掌声。
This activity coincided with the 10th‑anniversary celebration of Haikou Social Welfare Institute. Rose, a Ghanaian student from our institute, together with Chinese student Li Xubin, performed the Hainan folk song Long Time No See, winning warm applause from the elderly and children present.
海口市社会福利院唐凤英院长表示，留学生们的参与为福利院注入了新的活力和希望，正是因为大家的关爱和支持，也让福利院感受到温暖和真情。
Tang Fengying, Director of Haikou Social Welfare Institute, stated that the participation of international students brought new vitality and hope to the welfare institute. Care and support from all participants filled the institute with warmth and genuine affection.
学院党委张万科书记表示，学校一直注重培养中外学生的社会责任感和实践能力，此次活动是海南医学院国际教育学院党委和团委积极组织留学生参与社会福利院志愿服务活动的第一期，之后将发挥专业优势，协同附属医院的医生志愿者们共同开展专场志愿服务活动。未来，学校将继续加强与海口市社会福利院的交流沟通，为老人和孩子们提供更多关爱和帮助，弘扬中华民族传统美德，同时鼓励中外学生积极参与社会实践，促进学生的全面发展和成长，培养更多具有医学精神和人文关怀的优秀国际人才。
Zhang Wanke, Party Secretary of the institute, said that the university has always attached importance to fostering social‑responsibility awareness and practical abilities among Chinese and foreign students. This marks the first session of volunteer services at the social welfare institute organized by the Party Committee and Youth League Committee of the School of International Education. In follow‑up work, the institute will give full play to its professional strengths and carry out special volunteer activities together with doctor volunteers from affiliated hospitals. In the future, the university will further strengthen communication with Haikou Social Welfare Institute to deliver more care and assistance for the elderly and children, carry forward traditional Chinese virtues, encourage Chinese and foreign students to engage in social practice, promote their all‑round development, and cultivate more outstanding international talents with medical ethics and humanistic concern.
此次志愿服务活动进一步加强了海南医学院国际教育学院与福利院的交流联系，让中外医学生能够更深入地了解福利院的工作内容和受助群体的生活状况，在实践中培养社会责任感和爱心，展现医学生崇德向善的良好精神面貌，让留学生在切身行动中感受到“尊老爱幼”的中华优秀传统文化，增强医学生使命感与责任担当。
This volunteer service deepened ties between the School of International Education and the social welfare institute. It enabled Chinese and foreign medical students to gain deeper insights into the institute’s daily work and the living conditions of beneficiaries. Students cultivated social responsibility and compassion in practice, displayed the fine moral demeanour of medical practitioners. International students experienced the fine traditional Chinese virtue of “respecting the elderly and caring for children” through real‑world participation, and strengthened their sense of mission and responsibility.
