12月1日，海南医科大学医学卷轴凤凰广场沉浸在一片文化交融的热烈氛围中，海南医科大学第二届国际文化节正式开幕。

On December 1st, the Phoenix Square of Hainan Medical University was immersed in a vibrant atmosphere of cultural integration, marking the official opening of the university’s 2nd International Culture Festival.

本届国际文化节以“‘医’路同行，文化共融”为主题，旨在通过文化展示与交流，增进学生对世界各国文化的了解，共同探索医学与文化的交融之美，为培养具有国际竞争力的医学人才打下坚实基础。省教育厅、团省委、省教育国际交流协会和海口市相关单位负责人，海南医科大学副校长张彩虹、各职能部门和二级学院负责人等出席开幕式。活动现场，来自中国、巴基斯坦、加纳、俄罗斯、印度尼西亚等33个国家的上千名中外师生齐聚一堂，共享文化交流盛宴。

With the theme of “Walking the Medical Path Together, Sharing and Integrating Cultures”, this festival aims to enhance students’ understanding of world‑wide cultures through cultural display and exchange, jointly explore the integrated beauty of medicine and culture, and lay a solid foundation for cultivating internationally‑competent medical talents. Officials from Hainan Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Communist Youth League Committee, Hainan Provincial Education Association for International Exchange and relevant Haikou authorities, together with Zhang Caihong, Vice‑President of Hainan Medical University, and heads of functional departments and secondary schools attended the opening ceremony. Thousands of Chinese and foreign teachers and students from 33 countries including China, Pakistan, Ghana, Russia and Indonesia gathered for this grand cultural feast.

张彩虹副校长致开幕辞。她表示，海南医科大学高度重视国际交流与合作，国际文化节展示学校国际化建设的新发展和新气象，希望中外青年学子携手讲好海医故事、海南故事和中国故事，积极为建设热带特色鲜明的国际化高水平医科大学，推动中华文明与世界各国文化的交流互鉴贡献青春力量！

Vice‑President Zhang Caihong delivered the opening address. She stated that Hainan Medical University attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation. The International Culture Festival showcases new progress and outlook of the university’s international development. She hoped that young Chinese and foreign students would jointly tell stories of Hainan Medical University, Hainan and China, and devote youthful energy to building an international high‑level medical university with distinctive tropical features and promoting mutual learning between Chinese civilization and world cultures.

开幕式活动精彩纷呈。海南琼剧基本功展示《琼韵梨园》与中国传统戏剧《变脸》的巧妙结合拉开了活动序幕，来自印度尼西亚、加拿大、加纳、赞比亚等7个国家的留学生与海南省琼剧团的老师共同演绎中国非遗文化，点燃活动现场气氛；融入了丰富国际元素的非洲鼓、印度尼西亚歌舞、尼泊尔舞蹈、阿拉伯歌曲等表演，充分展现了各国文化的独特魅力；体现中国56个民族大融合的舞蹈《欢迎您》、中国传统养生功法《八段锦》、传承和弘扬医学精神的朗诵《大医精诚》、海南传统民歌《久久不见久久见》等表演，无不体现“文化因交流而多彩，文化因互鉴而丰富”的理念。

The opening ceremony featured splendid performances. The event kicked off with the ingenious combination of Hainan Qiong Opera basic‑skill show Qiong‑Yun Pear Garden and traditional Chinese drama Face‑Changing. International students from 7 countries including Indonesia, Canada, Ghana and Zambia, together with teachers from Hainan Qiong Opera Troupe, interpreted China’s intangible cultural heritage and heated up the atmosphere. Performances with diverse international elements such as African drums, Indonesian song‑and‑dance, Nepalese dances and Arabic songs fully demonstrated unique charms of different national cultures. Other programmes including the dance Welcome You reflecting the unity of China’s 56 ethnic groups, traditional Chinese health‑keeping exercise Baduanjin, recitation Sincere Great Physicians carrying forward medical spirits, and Hainan folk song Long Time No See all embodied the philosophy that “cultures become colourful through exchange and enriched through mutual learning”.

开幕式结束前的各国服装秀表演将晚会推向了高潮。留学生们身着各自国家的传统特色民族服饰，以优雅的步伐和自信的姿态，展示各国多彩文化和服饰之美，共同呈现世界文化的多元和交融。

Before the conclusion of the opening ceremony, the national costume show pushed the gala to its climax. Dressed in distinctive traditional costumes of their home countries, international students displayed the beauty of diverse cultures and costumes with elegant strides and confident demeanour, presenting the diversity and integration of world cultures.

国际文化节开幕式还设置了18个国际展台，共有33个国家的学生参与各国传统服饰、手工艺品、特色美食等的文化展示。黎锦、琼剧、针灸推拿和中国传统器乐等中国传统文化的展位前观者如市。

Eighteen international booths were set up at the opening ceremony. Students from 33 countries displayed traditional costumes, handicrafts and special food of their homelands. Booths featuring Li brocade, Qiong Opera, acupuncture‑tuina and traditional Chinese musical instruments drew large crowds of visitors.

海南大学、海南师范大学、琼台师范学院和海南热带海洋学院等兄弟院校的师生代表也受邀参加了此次开幕式表演和展位活动。

Teachers and student representatives from sister universities including Hainan University, Hainan Normal University, Qiongtai Normal University and Hainan Tropical Ocean University were invited to take part in stage performances and booth activities.

据悉，此次国际文化节由“传统文化进社区·留学生唱琼剧”、志愿服务公益周活动、国际学生十佳歌手比赛、主题展位活动、开幕式暨迎新活动以及青年论坛与对话等6个活动板块组成，后续精彩活动持续进行中。

It is reported that this International Culture Festival consists of six sections: “Traditional Culture into Communities · International Students Sing Qiong Opera”, volunteer‑service public‑welfare week, Top‑Ten International Student Singer Contest, themed booth exhibition, opening & orientation ceremony, as well as youth forum and dialogue. Follow‑up exciting events would be held successively.
