国际大讲堂第一课于9月28日18:00在第四教学楼109正式开讲。活动由国际教育学院副院长颜时姣主持，西英格兰学院Dr.Sanda Umar Ismail为主讲嘉宾。
The first lecture of the SIE International Forum officially started at 18:00 on September 28 in Room 109, Teaching Building No.4. The event was hosted by Yan Shijiao, Vice Dean of the School of International Education, with Dr. Sanda Umar Ismail from West England College as the guest speaker.
Dr.Sanda Umar Ismail以"Epidemiology and public health: an introduction"为题，用历史上的经典案例，引出流行病学和公共卫生的概念和作用，由浅入深地阐述健康促进的影响因素，引导学生们从不同的视角分析和理解常见的公共卫生问题。他精彩的讲座得到在场师生的阵阵掌声。此次活动共有一百多名中外学生和教师报名参加。
Under the title of "Epidemiology and public health: an introduction", Dr. Sanda Umar Ismail cited classic historical cases to introduce the concepts and functions of epidemiology and public health. He elaborated on influencing factors of health promotion from easy to difficult, and guided students to analyze and understand common public‑health issues from diverse perspectives. His wonderful lecture won warm applause from teachers and students present. More than one hundred Chinese and foreign teachers and students signed up for this activity.
“学在海医·爱在国教”国际大讲堂——感知科学，感知医学”系列讲座以线下英文讲授的形式举办，作为国际教育学院搭建的交流分享平台，将以每月一期的形式，邀请国内外医学相关领域知名专家分享科研思路和方法、最新科研进展和成果以及疾病诊疗前沿技术。
Delivered offline in English, the lecture series "SIE International Forum — Perceive Science, Perceive Medicine" serves as an exchange and sharing platform built by the School of International Education. One lecture will be held every month. Renowned experts in medicine‑related fields at home and abroad will be invited to share scientific‑research ideas and methods, latest research progress and achievements, as well as cutting‑edge technologies for disease diagnosis and treatment.
